What is Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG)?

admin 2015-01-29 11:39
Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) is natural gas that has been refrigerated (cooled) to approximately -256 °F (at atmospheric pressure) whereupon it becomes a liquid

Converting natural gas to LNG reduces its volume by a factor of 600:1 that means it can be easily and economically transported and stored in its liquid state

LNG is stored at a peak shaving plant or import terminal where it is warmed back to its gaseous state and sent through pipelines to home-owners and businesses.
